As we step into February, Juniper Village at Aurora is dedicated towards finding a cure for Alzheimer's Disease in one of our many fund raising activities, Valentine Balloon Bouquets. Also, during the month of February our focus is on art, and how it is one of many therapies that can help awaken your passion. Throughout the years, our residents have had the pleasure of using watercolors to paint from their fondest memories to create pictures of meadows, rainbows or flowers. An assortment of quality crafts including watercolors, pottery painting, and flower arranging have all had an impact to help engage our residents in our Connections program. We specialize our programming for our Wellspring Residents, where we thrive in letting the residents represent who they are through Art. Our Balloon Bouquet project is just one additional way we, as associates, give back to our community and Nurture the Spirit of Life by contributing towards a cure of Alzheimer's!
We are committed
At Juniper we are committed to nurturing the spirit of life in each individual we serve so that they may live fully throughout all seasons of life. To us this means understanding an individual, not only their needs but their desires and responding with programs and services which provide for the highest quality of life possible. Our Alive in All Seasons program of activities is designed to foster healthy bodies, enriched minds and fulfilled spirits. These pictures and stories are living proof that we at Juniper are dedicated to walking our talk!

Engaging the Mind, Body, and Spirit
Engaging the mind, body, and spirit is the philosophy we live by daily at Juniper Village at Aurora. We do this in many ways, both big and small. One way we we engage all of our senses, is through the Red Hat Society. In 1998, The Red Hat Society was founded by a woman who gathered a group of ladies wearing decorative red hats, purple clothing and feathered boas. Juniper Village at Aurora formed its own Red Hat Society and our ladies love sporting the purple and red!
Another way we engage our mind, body and spirit is through our Alive in All Seasons program. During the month of January, our Alive in All Seasons theme is music. Our Connections Program is filled with musical events and interactive song to fill our spirit. As we celebrate music in January, we invite you to attend a performance by Leonard Barrett, Jr. on January 25, 2011 at 3:00pm as he pays tribute to famous artists such as Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Marvin Gaye, and Frank Sinatra.

Juniper Village at Aurora Celebrates the Little Things With a Visitor from the North Pole
Juniper Village welcomed a special visitor from the North Pole. Our loving and caring Santa visited with the residents and families of our community. He brought no material gifts, but instead filled our hearts with gifts of joy, laughter, and comfort. Santa embodied the Christmas spirit and showed love and caring for our residents. He truly went above and beyond, which is what we look for in an everyday Hero!

Thanksgiving at Juniper Village
On Saturday, November 20th Juniper Village at Aurora hosted their annual Thanksgiving celebration. It was a great party with family members coming from long distances to celebrate the holidays with their loved ones. Everyone enjoyed the feast of turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes and dinner rolls, while listening to the soothing sound of our piano played by Barbara Zukowski.
Donna and George, daughter and son-in-law of Mary, share the day with their mother with a traditional Thanksgiving day platter.
Juniper Village at Aurora would like to give a special thanks to the Overland High School basketball team for giving a helping hand on this special day. Their enthusiasm and hard work along with their caring hearts shows that they have the discipline and good spirits to achieve high standards. The basketball team demonstrated what it takes to be a team and reflected our Juniper Communities philosophy: Together Everyone Achieves More!

Pauline was very proud to show off her skills in decorating her pumpkin.
Jennifer and her best friend Irene give a big smile as they pose for a picture with their decorative pumpkin.
Susan and Nancy work very diligently on their pumpkin during the Best Friend's Pumpkin carving contest. The final product was a success and provided a reward of laughter, joy, and smiles.
Goblins, Vampires, and Witches oh my! On October 29, 2010 our mission was to put on our best costumes and hand out candy during our Trick-or-Treat Street here at Juniper Village at Aurora. Many children came in with their costumes as our residents handed out candy in Town Square.
